The "Truth" mixed with error is equivalent to all error.

A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
Gal 5:9

The Word of God needs to be used as a measuring stick for everything that comes into contact with us, in our daily life. This will include our home, our work and our church life. If what is being preached at church doesn't line up totally with God's Word, you can be sure, the false will over-take the truth. The Bible warns about "certain men creeping in unaware" and how they are turning the grace of God into lasciviousness. Basically, some truth and some error all rolled up into a nice package. Remember in Jude they are called ungodly men. "And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?" 1Pe 4:18

They try to make the grass look greener, the standards just a little lower, the preaching more relaxing and their simplified explanations of why you can't live godly, so appealing. But remember, the Bible says, "Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners." 1Co 15:33 The Word of God teaches that we are to be followers of God, as dear children (Eph 5:1). We as parents couldn't expect our children to turn out godly, if we are teaching them ungodly things along with "some" truths of the Bible that we happen to agree with at the time. God the Father will not tolerate us, if we only partially obey the gospel that suits us.

How could these men interpret God's Word to the point of deceiving their flock and leading them away from the things of God? How can so many people believe they are on the narrow way and headed for the strait gate, when in reality their actions put them on the road to destruction. "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and "few" there be that find it." Mat 7:13-14  Man may change the meaning and the definitions of God's Word, but that does not change the measuring stick in which we will be judged. Remember, the Bible says, " For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that "obey not" the gospel of God?"  1Pe 4:17

Men have put their own spin, their own interpretation on this doctrine of "being under grace" to the point where you are not held accountable for any of your own actions, because we are under a mysterious type of grace which hides your sin from God.  This type of grace which is being taught and preached is not the grace of God that brings forth salvation to all men. How are we to discern between the holy and profane, between the unclean and the clean, when everyone who professes to be of Christ is under that type of grace? Remember the measuring stick, "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from "all iniquity," and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of "good works." These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee."  Titus 2:11-15

In a world full of man-made doctrines, there is a danger, that our affections will be turned from the Supreme God, to the charisma and personalities of men. Following ungodly men will leave you deceived and powerless amidst the temptations, and the allurements of sin.  To follow this course you will find yourself "numb" to sin and headed for the wide gate, which leadeth to destruction. Remember the measuring stick, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." Mat 7:15

Do you have victory over sin? Do you even desire victory over sin?
Jesus Christ has made a way for us, through His shed blood at Calvary, if we will repent and turn to God and do works meet for repentance. Don't be like King Agrippa in Acts chapter 26, where he said unto Paul "Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian." There is no almost in God's eyes, you are either for Him or against Him, you are either hot or cold. Remember the measuring stick,
"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." Gal 5:16

The Lord Jesus Christ must reign in our hearts; be acknowledged in our closets, our families, and in the place of public worship; be submitted to at all times as having a right to command and control us; be "obeyed" in all the expressions of His will, by His word, by His providence, and by His Spirit.

To have victory over sin will require the Holy Spirit in your life, to help reprove you of all sin and guide you into all truth. The Holy Spirit will lead you. You must follow.
