The truth about the Heresy of Eternal Security is very important to every believer in Christ! Many have been deceived by slick talking preachers who are only interested in building their congregations. . . promising a free ticket to Heaven for any who will "just believe." Please consider what God has to say about those who continue in sin and where they will spend eternity! |

This heresy says that once you have believed on Jesus, then it doesn’t matter what you do or how much sin you commit, you will still go to heaven when you die. This is a lie.

God Has A Question For You.
Ezekiel 18:24 24. But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live?. . .
The question above is: If a person turns away from righteousness and goes back to his sin, shall he live? The people that believe eternal security say yes. But God says NO!
Here is the true answer. Ezekiel 18:24-26 . . . All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: (or remembered) in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. 25. Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? 26. When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
In these scriptures God is showing us how he judges and what he thinks about backsliders who don't repent. When the people heard that God would not accept them if they went back to their sin, they said God's way was "not equal", meaning not fair or right. When you believe eternal security, then you too are saying God's way is not equal (not fair or right). These plainly revealed truths are clearly the opposite of eternal security doctrine.
This is not just Old Testament teaching. These are the very same principles taught by Apostle Paul in Hebrews. These verses are in the context of a person who has found and received salvation. Jesus is the Saviour from "SIN." He will not be your Saviour while you live in "SIN." You will be His adversary and you will receive the greater damnation.
Hebrews 10:26-31 26. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27. But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29. Of how much sorer punishment (worse punishment), suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30. For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. KJV
The salvation of Jesus, the blood of Jesus, the grace, the forgiveness of sins, the Holy Spirit baptism, and the mercy of the New Testament are all designed to influence and empower you to repent and obey God and live right. But if God does all this great New Testament work for you, and you still don't live right, but instead go back to your old sin, the Apostle Paul says you are worthy of worse punishment than Old Testament believers who went back to their sin.
The New Testament does not give you a license to sin. In Matthew 5:20 Jesus said, "Your righteousness must exceed what was taught in the Old Testament." Jesus quoted several Old Testament commandments and proceeded to make them even stricter for New Testament Christians. New Testament believers are held to a higher standard than Old Testament believers. If God did not accept the unrepentant backsliders then, he will not accept them now either because we are expected to do better than the Old Testament saints. Luke 12:48 says, "For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more." KJV
Do Angels Have Eternal Security?
The Believing Murderers
“As he spake these words, many believed on him. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” KJV This was a wonderful little moment when people began to believe on Jesus. According to the eternal security heresy, Jesus should have told them, “Well boys, now you got it, you have believed on me, so now you don’t have to do anything else. Don’t bother with continuing in my word because it doesn’t matter what you do or how much sin you commit--you have eternal security!” But Jesus didn’t tell them that, he told them they needed to do something-“continue in my word”- and be made free from sin to be his disciples. “Continue in my word” means continue to believe and to obey the word or commandments. To be a disciple is to be saved. If you are not a disciple, you are not a Christian.
If you read further you find that these “believers” wanted to murder Jesus. Then Jesus says to these “believers”, “You are of your father the devil.” How much eternal security do you think these "believers" had? There was clearly something more they had to do than just believing to be a true Christian or disciple.
Your Name Can Be Blotted Out of the Book of Life
There is one eternal unchanging principle that runs this universe and that is: God is the creator and He expects obedience from the things created--the world, the water, the air, the stars, angels, animals, and people, including you. And whatever and whoever doesn't obey Him, he will punish or destroy. This is the word of the true and living God. If this doesn't describe your God, then you are serving another God and you need to repent.
The bible says you
should reprove heresies and if the people do not repent, then reject
them. (Titus 3:10) The Apostle Paul
did not
preach eternal security and said,
"If any man preach any
other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be
accursed." (Galatians 1:8)
And in Galatians 5:19-21 Paul lists heresies among other sins such
as witchcraft and murder and says,
"they which do such
things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. "
Galatians 5:19-21 19. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20. Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21. Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. KJV
Remember “heresy” means: Any belief different from or contrary to what is taught in the Holy Bible.
When people believe heresies, they are in effect going after another God. There is a snare and a curse attached to every heresy, but a blessing if you reprove and forsake heresy. Do not fellowship with heresy.
