MOTIVE is everything where salvation is concerned.  I know you’ve heard a preacher preach on sin, hell fire, judgment and damnation and you were convicted.  But were you truly converted?........  

The fact that you felt convicted does not mean you are a child of God. There are several stages which a person goes through before he is truly converted to Christ.  The first is an awakening.  This is an interest in religion caused by some external circumstance such as a death in the family, car wreck; something that is directly affecting him. This person will usually do some searching and seeking, which will bring him to the realization that he lives daily for himself and HIS pleasure of sin. Have you awoke and came to the understanding that you’re, living in sin and is a PROBLEM?........ 

CONVICTION is a state of anxiety in which the person realizes he is in serious danger of the judgment and the wrath of God.  And by the Word of God he realizes that it’s his sin and his sin alone, that God will judge. Have you come to the understanding that it’s not someone else’s PROBLEM?........ 

With true conviction, he will come to the understanding and see the beauty of the cross, and the reality of the sacrifice that Jesus made for his deliverance from sin, and it will become meaningful to him. He will plead with God to forgive him of every sin he has committed.  Then he will surrender ALL to Jesus and will have NO PROBLEM giving up his life of sin. Have you experienced true REPENTANCE?........  

He will love Him for what he did for him, instead of trying to use Him for a free ride.  Thus, he will be willing and able to live a holy, consecrated life before the world, to reflect the righteousness of God, and to be a testimony to the world on how a merciful God can change a wicked sinner into a picture of Jesus Christ.  Have you experienced a true CONVERSION?........ 

You see the difference?........  It's all about MOTIVE........  DO YOU LOVE HIM?........  Are you serving Him, or are you still serving yourself?........  Are you still living like you are headed for HELL and telling everyone how spiritual you are?........  The fact is that devilish ideas of serving self and serving God have crept into the doctrine of most churches and it’s no longer important to love and obey Him and Him alone.  It's all about what you can get from God, instead of how you can obey and glorify Him. When a person is truly crucified with Christ; he will leave his own selfish inclinations, and leave his sin behind. The cross of Calvary is made alive to that person and he dies to self and picks up his cross to follow Jesus in his faith and practice. 

This person will receive God’s GRACE and will obey and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to walk in obedience with his Saviour from sin. Are you walking in obedience with the Holy and merciful God?........Or were you deceived into believing that you were able to receive God’s free gift and still be a servant of sin?........ 

It ALL comes back to YOUR MOTIVE. Most people never truly repent because of their pride. Don't let the devil lie to you, search your heart........ Is there something missing?........ Do you find it almost impossible to resist temptations such as lying, swearing, tobacco, alcohol, a raging temper, or greed?  If your answer is yes, then, you have believed the lie that satan is feeding you, and you will surely end up in hell.
