"God's  Grace"

Can God's grace be as amazing today as it once was during the great revivals of the past? Is God's grace today, sufficient for the modern day professing Christian? Why does it seem like the power has been removed from God's Word? What has happened to the peculiar people of God, who denied ungodliness and worldly lust and was living soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world?

Surely God's Word has not changed,  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Heb 13:8 Then, we should have no doubt that His power and grace should have the same effect on us.  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Eph 2:8 How could our faith be weak and powerless even after we have received the grace of God.  Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1Pe 1:5 Grace is being taught differently today, than it was in years past. If you ask a modern day professing Christian what grace means to them, they will define it as “the unmerited favor” that God places on their account when they believe.  To them it’s just a simple gift with its only use being - a ticket to heaven that comes in handy when they die.

Now, go talk to a bible believing, faith practicing, Christian over fifty five years old and they will describe how grace has effected their heart and their walk with their Savior. They will explain how grace guides them in their daily Christian walk.  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Act 2:38 The faith practicing Christian will, Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2Ti 2:15  He will listen for the voice of the Holy Ghost to guide him into all truth.  Wherefore as the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye will hear his voice. Heb 3:7

The Grace of God that is taught today is watered down with no power and with no meaning to the professor, just an unmerited gift with no use in the life in which he lives. Is it any wonder that the majority of the ones who name the name of Christ have, a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: 2Ti 3:5 Why is the Holy Spirit not teaching them to deny ungodliness and the worldly lust of the flesh?

Didn't the Apostle Peter tell them to repent, be baptized and they shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, which will lead them into all truth. A watered down grace is not the only problem that has plagued modern day Christdom, if they would have truly repented the Holy Spirit would lead them into all truth.

Too many professors try to put their faith in man’s wisdom, That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 1Co 2:5 The grace that was given to the apostles, martyrs and  the saints of the early church, is waiting to be called upon today by anyone who will repent and be converted, Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; Act 3:19
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Luk 13:3

Could it be that this generation has become so desensitized with the diluted preaching and teaching that they believe they have received a free gift, which allows them to live in sin and call it liberty under grace? This is contrary to the Word of God and the divine influence that grace would have on a true convert of Christ. Grace (the divine influence) will help direct you to be more like Christ every day in your walk in this life, if you allow it to.  Anyone who claims to be a Christian will have the desire to be Christ-like and that comes by growing in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen. 2Pe 3:18

"Amazing Grace"

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

John Newton 1725 - 1807

Even the song writers of old understood grace and knew when they listened and obeyed, grace would lead them home.
