Ensamples to the Flock?

An ungodly ensample to the flock is just a wolf in sheep's clothing!

There is a urgent need today for those who claim to be a child of God to "study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2Ti 2:15

There are many things that are practiced and taught today that claim to be from the God of Heaven and it really turns out to be promoted by the "prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:" Eph 2:2

"For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake." Th 1:5   The Word of God should be studied and used as an instruction manual in partnership with the Holy Spirit to promote a sober, righteous, and godly life-style in this present world.  This type of walk would show that you have a great love for your Saviour and that you are obedient to His Word. This obedience will be your testimony to others that Christ, the hope of Glory dwells in you.  Our testimony is very important to others and to Christ. As followers of Christ, we are able to be ensamples to all of the glorious transformation that changes a person's heart by obedience to God's Word.  But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. (Romans 6:17-18 KJV)

Most “so called” professing Christians today do not believe that they have to live any different in their walk of life after they have received Grace from God. They believe that the Grace they have received will protect them and cover or hide them while they continue to live in sin. God’s Grace will not be in partnership with that type of life style, "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity." 2Ti 2:19

There are those who even teach that your flesh, your lust, your envy of your old nature will rule your life until you die. This type of teaching is the norm today and is readily accepted.  Some of these teachers claim to have every trait of the “old man” in them and still in control of them. This doesn’t sound like a new creature that has received God’s Grace or redeeming power that will lead him into all truth.  Their teaching doesn't correspond with God's instructions when His Word says "if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2Co 5:17  or "Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Romans 6:6"

That's pretty clear that the "old man" no longer rules in the heart of a child of God!

To make matters worse, a lot of these false ideas are coming from the ones who are supposed to be the ensamples to the flock. Those who are to teach God's word in purity and guide His flock into all truth. These stewards of God's heritage who "must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach;" 1Ti 3:2  There is one qualification they will all hit on and hit on and hit on and that is the husband of one wife, while they neglect the rest of the very important qualifications in which God requires of them.

They seem to have themselves talked into unholy thoughts and unholy actions not only in their day to day walk, but even when they get up to pray before they preach to God's people.

What about accountability to Christ and the others that they are being an ensample unto? After Paul's deliverance on the road to Damascus, he charted his course so not to shame the name of his Saviour and to have the name “Christian” to mean Christ-like in his thoughts and his daily walk. "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." 1Co 9:27

Is it important, as an ensample to the flock, to keep your body in subjection? Paul believed it was very important and God says "a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;" Tit 1:7

Below is a prayer by a preacher, his name is not important, but his thoughts for his prayer are disturbing to say the least. One could only wonder how he claims to be so wicked, with lust, envy, jealousy, pride, luke-warmness and unbelief and he only wants to be flushed out for a little while!  Are these the type of words that will call sinners to repentance?  Is this feeding Jesus’ sheep?  Judge for yourself.

"Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?" James 3:11

Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. (Matthew 12:33 KJV)

His Prayer:

Dean Mcneese

Our Heavenly Father, help me to be a help to the people of God.  Lord, help me to be faithful to Christ.  Help me to be faithful to my calling.  Help me to be faithful to the book.  Help me to be faithful to the Holy Ghost and preach exactly what and how he puts it in my heart.

Father, I pray you’d flush out of me. . . God, I can feel the internal corruption. . . so wicked, so ever-present.  I pray you’d flush all the hell. . . hellishness. . .out of my system; All the lust and envy and jealousy and pride and lukewarmness and unbelief and fear; All that comes from the old nature. I pray you’d flush it out for a little while.

May I stand sacred and sanctified before ya in this hour. Lord, help us. We need help. This is a demonic hour. Lord, this is a dysfunctional hour. This is a demon possessed hour. This is a dark depressing hour across the planet. Lord, it ought not be that way in the house of God.

Help us, I pray, to receive help from the Scriptures and I’ll thank ya for it, in Jesus’ name we pray and all the Lord’s people said. . . . . . Amen.

"So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." Rev 3:16

Maybe he never read this verse? Maybe he's trying to deceive you?  Maybe he thinks you've never read this verse? He could be right!

Can the Holy Ghost put things in your heart, if the wickedness in your heart is so ever-present?  Think about that!  The Bible teaches us: Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (2 Timothy 2:22 KJV)

Why does he not have a pure heart, but instead is filled with his old nature, lust, envy, jealousy and pride?

Can you stand sacred and sanctified with all this lukewarmness and unbelief?  NO!

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.  (Revelation 21:8 KJV)

Could this be the way that the apostles or the preachers of the apostolic faith started the great revival meetings of the past?  Or did they preach God’s Word with power by Grace  and in partnership with the Holy Spirit. What has happened to the faith which was once delivered unto the saints?  Where did the preachers of the apostolic faith go?  Where are the ensamples to the flock?  Why can't "God's people" discern evil men from righteous men?

When God's Word is not studied and preached, then there is a comfort level for sin and it will be tolerated, and then it will become the norm in their day-to-day walk.

It is our responsibility, as a child of God, to be obedient to Him no matter what is taught or preached, so we can be the example for others who really are seeking after Jesus.

"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain."   Phi 2:12-16

God give us wisdom through your Holy Word to discern the evil from the good.
