Why I don’t celebrate Christ-Mass

Our only tradition is the tradition of the Apostolic Teaching and Practice, and we do not recognize other traditions as our authority. Apostle Paul admonished to all followers of Christ:

"Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle (2Th 2:15)."

Please note this important fact - we do not deny the birth of Jesus Christ or the chapters that are devoted to His coming to earth as a man.  Although some would like to accuse us of this, it is not true at all.  We are commanded to follow Apostolic faith just like the early churches did!

Do not err and worship God by using pagan customs and methods of worship.

(please read: Exodus 32:1-9)

Please take time and read the entire article paying close attention to what God has to say about His children taking up heathen practices.

Scripture teaches...

Deu 12:28  Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God.

Deu 12:29  When the LORD thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land;

Deu 12:30  Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.

Deu 12:31  Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.

Deu 12:32  What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Jos 24:14  Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD

1Co 10:11  Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Jer 10:1  Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:

Jer 10:2  Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

Jer 10:3  For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

Jer 10:4  They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

"Learn NOT the way of the HEATHEN."

Jesus preached and said...

Mat 28:20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Jesus never commanded that we celebrate his birth every year, neither did any of His Apostles.  Keep it simple.  Keep it Apostolic!

Psa 119:127  Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.

Psa 119:128  Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.

John 4:22  Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

John 4:23  But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

John 4:24  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

The "christmas spirit" is a lying spirit and is a spirit of the god of this world.  The masses follow him at christmas just like they do the rest of the year.

The “Antiquity” of Christmas?  Was it celebrated by the early church?  NO!

Jud 1:3  Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

The word Christmas (the mass of Christ) was introduced by the Roman Church hundreds of years after the birth of Jesus.  They attached the birth of Jesus to December 25, which was a pagan festival day thousands of years before Christ was even born!

(*Let it be noted that some people I personally know who celebrate Christmas refuse to celebrate Easter, because they say that "Easter" was a pagan festival day full of pagan fertility symbols and has nothing to do with the resurrection of Jesus! *)

Was the church of Pergamos what we now know to be the “Catholic Church?”

Pergamos means  – “Married to Power”

Rev 2:12  And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;

Rev 2:13  I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

Rev 2:14  But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

Rev 2:15  So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

Rev 2:16  Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

THE VERY NAME OF CHRISTMAS IS UNSCRIPTURAL

It is a combination of words - “the mass of Christ,” or “Christ’s mass.” There is nothing in God’s Word to even hint of such a term.  The word immediately reveals its link to the Roman (Catholic) Church.

The Bible teaches to...

1Th 5:21  Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Act 17:11  These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

1John 4:1  Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Man’s traditions condemned.  God calls it "vain worship"...

Mar 7:5  Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?

Mar 7:6  He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

Mar 7:7  Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Mar 7:8  For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

Mar 7:9  And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

Luk 16:15  And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Christmas = Christ Mass = The repeated suffering of Christ on the cross = Another Gospel = profane

Eze 44:23  And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

Eze 20:39  As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols.

James 4:4  Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

It still amazes me how "Christians" can get caught up in this profane pagan celebration right along with the rest of the ungodly of this world and not acknowledge the above Scripture!

IDOLATRY is FORBIDDEN

Manger scenes, baby Jesus figurines, Angels on tree tops, trees that represent everlasting life, etc...

Images of God will corrupt you.  Worship aids are also forbidden.

Exo 20:4  Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

Exo 20:5  Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God,

Deu 7:25  The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.

Deu 7:26  Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.

Christmas “gift-giving” perverts good judgment.  Gifts are purchased out of obligation, rather than necessity.  You “have” to buy this person a gift so you’re not embarrassed when they buy you a gift!  Pressure and obligation dominates Christmas “gift-giving.”

Deu 16:19  Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.

Deu 16:20  That which is altogether just shalt thou follow, that thou mayest live, and inherit the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Deu 16:21  Thou shalt not plant thee a grove of any trees near unto the altar of the LORD thy God, which thou shalt make thee.

Deu 16:22  Neither shalt thou set thee up any image; which the LORD thy God hateth.

The “Christmas spirit” promotes giving of gifts in order to get gifts in return...

Jesus said....

Luk 14:12  Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.

Luk 14:13  But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:

Luk 14:14  And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

God commands us not to follow the way of the heathen nor take up their practices...

Lev 18:1  And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Lev 18:2  Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God.

Lev 18:3  After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.

Lev 18:4  Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God.

The Bible makes no mention of the celebration of Christmas – It is totally silent!

2Co 11:4  For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

1Co 15:1  Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

1Co 15:2  By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

1Co 15:3  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

1Co 15:4  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The whole world participates in Christmas and will one day celebrate and “give gifts” over the death of the Two Witnesses...

Rev 11:8  And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Rev 11:9  And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

Rev 11:10  And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

Baptism and Lord’s Supper are commanded in Scripture but not the celebration of Christmas

Act 2:38  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Act 10:48  And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

1Co 11:24  And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

1Co 11:25  After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

1Co 11:26  For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

God even commands us to “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.” Exo 20:12

Did Jesus, or any of the Apostles command that we celebrate Jesus’ birth?  NO!

Were the angels in Heaven celebrating “Christmas” at Jesus’ birth or were they praising and worshiping God?  There is a difference

Heb 1:6  And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him

Luk 2:13  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Luk 2:14  Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Other various reasons why “Christmas” is not of God...

Many martyrs gave their lives to oppose Catholic superstitions and traditions.

The name Christmas came from “Christ's Mass,” and Christians hate the Catholic mass.

This unique “holy day” in the Roman Catholic calendar is exalted by three profane masses.

All the God-hating, Christ-denying, and sin-loving pagans get excited about this day.

For the two centuries following the Pilgrims, Christians in America called it “Popish.”

The Pilgrims in 1620, seeking to worship God in truth, formally banned the holiday.

It was a crime to observe Christmas in America, when our country truly feared God.

It was a crime to observe Christmas in England, when that country truly feared God.

English parliament under Oliver Cromwell outlawed it in 1644 and punished violaters.

A time of unbridled greed, covetousness, and materialism cannot honor Jesus Christ.

It commercializes my Savior as a selling factor” for ungodly, worldly pleasure.

The world loves a jesus helpless in a manger, but God’s Christ is the Lord and Judge.

The Bible is totally silent about using this day or any such celebration to worship Christ.

The Puritans in 1659, seeking to worship God in truth, set a 5 shilling fine for keeping it.

The modern Christmas tree was not introduced to this country by Germans until 1821.

Jesus was not born in December, for one-half year back from Passover is rather October!

Jesus was not born in December, for shepherds did not stay in the fields during winter.

(But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day. Mat. 24:20)

Jesus was not born in December, for taxation would not have been in the dead of winter.

Jesus was not born in December, for wise taxation would have been shortly after harvest.

Jesus was not born in December, for careful calculation of the priest’s courses exclude it.

Our past lives suffice us for lusts, excess of wine, revellings, and banquetings.

(And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 1Co 6:11)

It creates the most foolish, hectic, stressful, guilt-ridden, and unproductive time of the year.

Catholics, Wiccans, Hindus, Pagans and other cults celebrate it while despising Jesus.

This celebration yokes “Believers” with unbelievers.

God commanded us,..... “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?  And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? 2 Cor. 6:14-16)

Jesus promised that the “Majority” are on the wrong road leading to death....

Mat 7:13  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Mat. 7:13-14)

     ***************************************************

Christmas is a man-made, wordly, Catholic tradition, operating from the world system - governed by Satan.

The Scriptures do not require it’s celebration for salvation, church membership or Christian fellowship.  It is a holiday full of idolatry, covetousness, lies, and blasphemy, all of which break the commandments of God.

I have been commanded to hold to the traditions that are taught in the Scriptures and not the ones invented by man, and adopted from “heathen” practices which God forbade His people to do.  2 Thes. 2:15 & Old Testament

Thereby, it would be wrong for me to be involved in any type or form of this anti-Christ, false, worldly, idolatrous, pagan celebration.

2Co 5:7  For we walk by faith, not by sight:

The Roman Catholic Church....

Rev 18:3  For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

Rev 18:4  And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out

of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
