Romans 8:9-10

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ , he is none of his.

10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. KJV

NOTE: If Jesus Christ (via the Holy Spirits ministry) is in you then what is dead?

Answer: The body of sin! The acts of sin in the flesh!

1 John 3:4

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. KJV

NOTE: Sin is breaking the Law of God! That is not a good thing! That is a bad thing that Jesus Christ does not approve of! If there is sin in the world than there is also a law to point it out. If there is a law to point it out then the Law of God still stands as a witness against acts of wickedness, or how else would the righteous judge, Jesus Christ, judge the world?

Gal 5:19-21

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication , uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. KJV

NOTE: All the above acts are listed as “WORKS OF THE FLESH and are considered sin! Sin is once again the breaking of the Law of God. The flesh is what breaks the Law of God. The flesh is a term used to describe a person without the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit in the mind and heart. A BORN AGAIN believer in Jesus Christ has this gift, and is not in the flesh, but is in the Holy Spirit power and authority.

Romans 7:12

12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. KJV

NOTE: Can something be holy and unholy at the same time? Can something be good and bad at the same time? Can something be just and unjust at the same time? The Bible is clear that the Law of God is three things: HOLY, JUST, and GOOD! These are good things!

Mattew 5:17-18

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. KJV

NOTE: Is the heaven still in the sky? Yes! Is the earth still under your feet? Yes! Is the Law of God still in effect according to the CREATOR GOD (Jesus Christ)? YES!

Matt 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. KJV

NOTE: To be great in the kingdom of God is to obey the Law of God! We have not addressed how to obey, just the fact of SCRIPTURE that the Law must be obeyed. The HOW is another question keep reading and try to stay calm, you will see there is no heres just the facts.

1 Cor 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God. KJV

NOTE: There are TWO laws!!! The laws of MOSES which are nailed to the cross! The Laws of Moses deal with the ceremonial law of ordinances (Eph 2:15; Col 2:14) there are forever finished and we do not have to kill lambs anymore. The law of ritual service is done away when Jesus shed His blood on Calvary. And secondly is the Law of God which is the TEN COMMANDMENTS! This is the eternal standard of righteousness and can never change or be done away with.

The Tens are a transcript of the character of God and are called HOLY, JUST, and GOOD! God is also called HOLY, JUST and GOOD! The Law represents the principles of COVENANT RELATIONSHIP that we as created beings are to hold if we are to be in fellowship with God (the first four commands Ex 20:1-11) and in fellowship with our fellow man (the last six commands Ex 20:12-17). The Law of God is eternal and is the standard in the judgment! The Tens deal with morality, not animal sacrifice

James 2:7-8

7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?

8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: KJV

James 2:10-12

10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. KJV

NOTE: This passage of scripture is clear! The Law of God is to judge mankind! The Law that is spoken of is the Law that points out our MORAL DUTY to God and to our fellow man. That would be the TEN COMMANDMENTS!

Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. KJV

Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. KJV

Gal 5:19-20

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, KJV

NOTE: There is no way on earth that mankind can obey the Law of God in his own strength. Secondly, even if he tried and gave it his best effort, HIS WORKS, would not be accepted and he would never be justified! He would be LOST like the wicked Pharisees that murdered Jesus Christ. The works of the flesh cannot keep the law, as the works of the flesh are PURE SIN, SIN, SIN! The works of the flesh” are described as: Adultery (break the 7th command); Hatred (break the 6th command) and the rest of the “works of the flesh” are all examples of LAW BREAKING!!! Therefore, the works of the flesh can not keep the HOLY, JUST and GOOD law of God! It is impossible! To try would be a wicked legalism and the greatest form of apostasy that would lead to isolation from Jesus Christ! Our efforts in our strength is not acceptable with God! The works of the law (our effort to obey) is legalism and not accepted with God, and will not lead to JUSTIFICATION!

Romans 6:12-14

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. KJV

NOTE: If we are not to let sin (LAW BREAKING) be in our life, then clearly we are to obey the Law of God! For you are either obedient to the Law of God or you are not and are in sin! But the Bible says we are not to obey sin (Law breaking). So how do we obey the Law without the works of the flesh? How do we get rid of sin in our life, but not be found legalists trying to earn our way to heaven? Will the real gospel please stand up????

Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. KJV

NOTE: FAITH DOES NOT GET RID OF THE LAW OF GOD EITHER!!! So how do we obey the Law of God then and not be considered legalists trying to earn our way to heaven? How are we to be saved from sin (Law breaking)? How are we to establish the Law of God?

Romans 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. KJV

NOTE: If you are in sin the LAW tells you that you are what??? GUILTY!

NOTE: We are not under the Law (breaking it) we are under grace! If you are under the law according to the BIBLICAL definition of the term, then you are BREAKING THE LAW and are guilty of SIN!!! To apply the term “under the law” in any other method is not Biblical! It specifically means to be in sin breaking the principles of eternal righteousness! You are either in Gods grace (power) to obey the law or you are “under the law” guilty of sin for breaking the law!

What does the Bible mean when it says UNDER GRACE?

The term grace means the power of God!

Ephesians 3:7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. KJV

NOTE: UNDER GRACE, means to be under the control of His (Jesus Christâs) power to live a righteous life that does not break His law!

John 14:15-16

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; KJV

NOTE: If we are willing to live our lives after the power and control of the HOLY SPIRIT, according to the principles of eternal righteousness (Law of God) then the gift of the Holy Spirit will be given and He will guide us into appropriate obedience to His Law.

In Romans 7:14 the law is said to be SPIRITUAL! If it is spiritual then how can a person in the flesh (without the spirit) obey the spiritual principles of the Law of God? He cannot it is impossible! It will never happen! Unless the gift of the Holy Spirit is given, and the power of God is in the life, then and only then can we ESTABLISH the Law of God (Rom 3:31)! To love Jesus Christ and obey the Law He gave on Mount Sinai and repeated it (spiritually) on the Mount of Blessing, we need the gift of the Holy Spirit to obey the spiritual law! Thus, we will not be UNDER THE LAW but under Gods grace to obey the Law as He reveals it to our conscience and then gives us power to yield our wills to His commands or direction, which is Law keeping!

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. KJV

NOTE: People that submit themselves fully to the Word of God and the Power (grace) of the Holy Spirit will be said to be KEEPING THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD! The law will thus be established in their lives as the witness that man can obey the Law of God which is a reflection of the character of God, and it is all done by the POWER of GRACE that God gives His people, so that they will not be found to be sinners breaking His law on Judgment day! They will not be saved by their works of the law, but BY God’s works in them. God will write the law in the mind and heart of the believer…then and only then will the believer be said to be keeping the Law of God.

We are not saved by our attempts to obey, but by faith receiving the power of Grace, we are able to allow God to work in us to have characters that reflect the principles of the LAW of GOD! This is how we are saved from sin (Law breaking) by His works and His power, not our own. By faith we can receive the power of God (grace) and with that gift we can obey whatever the Bible says…thus the works are not our own but His…

Rev 22:14-16

14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. KJV

NOTE: In verse 15 to love and make a lie is an act of sin, which is breaking the commandments of God!

How are we to obey the Law when the Bible calls this “works” and not faith?

Ps 138:8 The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. KJV

Matt 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. KJV

Ps 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. KJV

NOTE: How does the Law of God convert the soul? By the works of the Holy Spirit bringing the power of God (grace) to the heart and mind of man so that he can obey the will of God…the law! It is not done in “OUR WORKS” but it is done in “HIS WORKS!”

Isaiah 26:12 LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us. KJV

NOTE: It is the LORD that does the works of the law in us! We are not justified by OUR EFFORTS TO OBEY, but by allowing the creative power of God to REWRITE the principles of lawful obedience in our CHARACTERS! He is the CREATOR and He can recreate us to be obedient to the Law, which is a reflection of eternal righteousness and character perfection. This is the NEW COVENANT EXPERIENCE!!!

Hebrews 10:15-16

15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; KJV

NOTE: Please note that in verse 15, it is the HOLY SPIRIT that WRITES THE LAW OF GOD IN OUR MIND AND HEART! Thus faith is allowing the Holy Spirit to work in our lives to bring our characters into harmony with the Spiritual principles of the Spiritual Law of God (Rom 7:14), and in thus doing we are able to ESTABLISH the Law of God (Rom 3:31) as Holy, Just and Good (Rom 7:12). It is solely the WORK OF GOD to change us into Law Abiding Citizens of heaven, of which sinners (Law Breakers) can have no part!

This is not legalism, but the Bible Gospel plan for mankind! We are not to obey the Law of God in our own strength but by faith we can receive grace (Eph 2:8) which is the eternal, creative, power of God, that will allow us to obey His law, by His power, and by HIS WORKS in us!

Phil 2:12-13

12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. KJV

Phil 4:13

13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

NOTE: I hope I have made this issue clear. To be under the law is to be guilty of breaking it! Thus if you are guilty of breaking the law, you are not keeping the commandments of God, and are a sinner and the wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23).

However, under grace means the opposite as under the law! Under Grace means to be keeping the commandments in the power of God called grace! This is not legalism but the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Pharisees did not realize that in order to keep the commandments that they needed faith in God, and then they would receive the gift of grace. They felt no need for help. And they thought God would accept their own works of the law.

The flesh can never do this! It is the Holy Spirit ONLY that can do it in us! We are justified by faith, receiving grace (power) which gives us power to obey the Law of God in His STRENGTH, not ours!

This is Biblical Commandment Keeping! This is the Victorious Christian with Biblical faith (1 John 5:4). Praise God

1 John 5:2-4

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. KJV

Malachi 3:6

6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. KJV

Matthew 5:17-18

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. KJV

NOTE: Neither God or His law changes! Man was created and was in harmony with the Law of God, but when he sinned, he lost the gift of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and the grace (power) of God that was given him (man) to obey was lost.

Thus, man became a sinner and unable to obey the law of God in the flesh, and all of mans works to obey would be nothing more than an insult to God and His eternal righteous character. Thus the gospel is the plan whereby man can have victory over the flesh (works of sin/ law breaking) by the gift of the Holy Spirit, and if this gift is received by faith then grace (power) is given so man can once again obey the eternal righteous principles of the Law of God as pointed out to him by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit working on our conscience is what points out our duty in relation to obedience to the Law of God, and when we obey our conscience, we are in fact obeying the Law of God, because the Holy Spirit imparts grace (power) to obey His will. Peter walked on water by the grace (power) of God! It was Gods will for him to walk on water, and power was given, if he would receive it by faith, he did and the result was the supernatural gift of spiritual power to defy the law of gravity.

We too can defy the law of sin and death! We can live within the Law of God, only as we have a faith relationship with Jesus Christ and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and His grace will be given for us to obey his will, which is lawful obedience and perfection of character.

Only the supernatural power of the CREATOR can do this for, and in us! Jesus Christ did it in the flesh by faith, and when we submit to the Holy Spirit we can do it in the flesh as well! Jesus Christ was made like us, and showed us how to obey the Law of God!

John 15:10

10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. KJV

NOTE: The Commandments of Jesus Christ (GOD ALMIGHTY) is the same as His Fathers (GOD ALMIGHTY)! They are one!!!

John 10:30 I and my Father are one. KJV

Teaching Lascivious Grace

Teaching Lascivious Grace

God warned us that there are men who have crept in unaware that are changing His Grace into lasciviousness. He told us in the book of Jude to earnestly contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints. That faith that was once delivered, involved being free from sin. Jesus Christ came to set men free from their sin. This is the whole purpose as to why He came.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21 KJV)These men who have crept into the churches are now teaching a lascivious grace. They teach the people that they will sin daily… in thought, word and deed. Biblical grace teaches us that we should deny ungodliness and wordly lusts and that we should live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world. (Titus 2:12) This is the grace that bringeth eternal salvation!

Grace is the power to overcome sin in our life! It is the power to redeem us back to God because we have become dead to sin ~ the very thing that separated us from God in the first place! God’s grace teaches us how to be godly and holy!

But instead of warning the people that sin will send a person to hell, they tell them they can’t stop sinning while they live in this body of flesh. They teach that a “Christian” can live a loose life of lying, stealing and adultery because they just can’t stop sinning. (By the way, they also tell them they are imputed with Christ’s righteousness which means they should never sin again while they live on this earth!) They use Romans chapter 7 as their pretext to “prove” that salvation doesn’t take away the desire to commit sin. Oh, how blind they are! The thought never occurs to them that Apostle Paul is speaking of his past unconverted state in verses 14-24.

It seems unbelievable to me, that the people willingly swallow this false teaching hook, line and sinker. Where is their Biblical knowledge of truth? Those who preach such nonsense disqualify themselves from preaching God’s Word! In 1 Timothy 3:2, the Bible says a bishop then must be blameless. Someone who is committing sin daily is certainly NOT blameless! Yet, those in the pew are convinced by their pastors that “we all sin everyday” and if you even hint to the fact that you don’t sin daily, you will be ridiculed and called a LIAR. I know, I’ve heard it before.

The Bible is very clear that those who are carnally minded and walk after the flesh and not after the spirit shall die in their sin. That doesn’t mean they will die and go to Heaven if they once prayed a prayer. It means they will die “in their sin” and go to hell because they are not walking after the spirit, but prefer sin over righteousness.

Lascivious grace teaches that our sins are great, but God’s grace is greater (wink, wink). It says that you are still going to commit sin daily, but God’s grace will somehow cover those sins because he forgave your sins past, present and future. Please show me where the Bible says that one! It says “sins that are past” Romans 3:25 (That have been committed; or that have existed before)

Lascivious grace teaches a looseness to the Christian life; a belief that we do not have to obey God’s commandments; a belief that we do not have to bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. It means we do not actually have to be overcomers of sin in this life!

Sadly, multitudes of people fall for this garbage of “I’m a sinner, you’re a sinner, we’re all just saved-sinners” type thinking that produces rotten fruit and causes the institutionalized churches to stink with sin-laden pew sitters. This message of lasciviousness is not the truth from God’s Word and it will not set them free from the bondage of sin, but instead, will make them feel more comfortable as they continue to sin.

Sin will bring swift destruction, not salvation. It’s not funny. It’s not ok with God. He didn’t make you this way. You choose whether or not to sin. It’s not some glitch in your system that causes you to sin. The Bible says “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Do not err, my beloved brethren. (James 1:14-16 KJV)

If you lie daily, there’s something wrong! You need to repent! We tell our children that they should always “tell the truth.” Then, the pastor stands before his congregation and says “We’re all liars. We all lie everyday. Shake your little heads up and down! You know I’m right. Bro. So-and-So, you’ve told a lie today, haven’t you?” (he shakes his head yes) I wonder what the children are thinking during this time? Daddy just said he lied today and he tells me not to lie! You hypocrite! You need to REPENT! I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:3 KJV)

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. (2 Peter 2:1-2 KJV)

The truth is, you shouldn’t be sinning daily. Will you speak evil of me because I tell you the truth? Please re-read the previous verse. This is the way of truth. Believe it or not. Many will follow false prophets! God said so. It’s your choice. You can either follow your false teacher and continue to sin daily or you can follow God in truth. Jesus Christ came to set you free from the bondage of sin…in this life. He came to make you holy through the divine influence (grace) of righteousness upon your heart. He came to make you holy, not sinful, incase you misread it.

“As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”(1 Peter 1:14-16 KJV)

Lascivious grace brings damnation to its followers. Biblical grace teaches us to be like Christ! True Christians have ceased from sin and those will be the only ones who inheritETERNAL life!

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. (Romans 6:22 KJV)

Truth brings forth light and you will no longer walk in darkness. The light of God’s Word will expose those who teach unsound doctrine.

Jesus Christ is the Word

Jesus Christ is the Word

Brother Matthew Peters

Jesus Christ is the Creator. Any Bible believing Christian cannot readily deny this fact without doing some amazing gymnastics with the Word of God to prove otherwise. Let the Bible speak on the matter of creation:

John 1:1-3

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. KJV

Hebrews 1:1-3

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; KJV

Colossians 1:16-17

16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. KJV

The Bible is the inspired Word of God (2 Pet 1:21; 2 Tim 3:16) and as such it can be trusted so that mankind can come to the knowledge of the glory of God (2 cor 4:6). Man is able to base the necessary decisions for the conduct of his life on the revealed will of God as found in the Word of God. Jesus Christ whom all Christians claim to follow and worship should give heed to His word when He stated that “man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). It is Jesus Christ that stated that command/simple truth to His people, and is found eternally inscribed in the unerring record of the scriptures. Praise God that He Himself promised in Psalms 12:6-7 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. (7) Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever KJV. To believe that we do not have an unerring transcript of the Words of the Almighty God is straight forward unbelief, and blasphemy (1 Tim 6:1). God has promised and He is perfectly faithful, we have a record of His Word.

However there seems to be a disconnect. Not all Christians understand the Word of God, nor have they made a diligent search of its contents, or conducted protracted study that is commanded and demanded of a sincere follower of Jesus Christ, who as we have already seen from John 1:1-3 is called himself THE WORD OF GOD. They worship Jesus Christ, the Word of God, but do not know the Word of God! How disturbing is the fact that many professed followers give heaping laurels and praises to Jesus Christ the LORD of their life, but they shun the clear teaching of His Word through lack of study, and thus have an incomplete knowledge of the One they are worshipping. Their mouth service to Jesus Christ is glowing with bright beams of radiant glory, but due to complacency through a lack of study of Himself as codified in His word their lives are ignorantly out of harmony with His will as clearly found in His testimony…the Word of God. Why is this the case? Why do so many Christians know so little of the truths of Him they have entrusted with eternal life? Do they not know that they are to trust the Word of God, and therefore they are bound to serious, diligent, and sincere efforts to know the living Christ through His testimony?

Let us look at three Bible texts, remembering that these texts are not some one-liners in the daily newspaper, but the truth that flows from off the throne of the omnipotent God of all creation, the giver and sustainer of life.

2 Timothy 2:15

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. KJV

NOTE: The Bible states that in order to be approved of God we must study His Word. Please pay close attention to what this text says if we do not study. That the person will be ashamed, and not able to divide (understand, interpret) the teachings of their Life Giver and Redeemer. Ask yourself this question, and just ponder it in your mind for a moment Do I really know the Jesus Christ of the Bible… is my life in harmony with the truth of His testimony… what will He say to me if I have neglected a true-hearted study of His word and there are things, possibly many things that were left undone or found to be not in harmony with His will for my life¦ how will that reflect on my glowing praise of Him despite the fact that I did not love Him enough to come into harmony with His revealed will as found in the Bible through a neglect of study?

Proverbs 15:28

28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer : but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things. KJV

NOTE: Most Christians believe they are accounted righteousness in heaven as a result of their mouth-profession of Jesus Christ. But the testimony of the One they claim to worship states “…the righteous studieth to ANSWER Therefore, there is a clear standard in heaven as to who is accounted righteous! Them that study the Word of God so as to help others come into a RIGHT or CORRECT relationship with Jesus Christ as found in His Word as He has commanded.

One last comment on Proverbs 15:28, and this many shock the surface reader but nonetheless the truth is clearly evident. The contrast between the righteous and the wicked, is not a contrast between a believer and an unbeliever, but between the sincere believer as measured by his desire to understand thy truth (Dan 9:13), and the believer that does not care to make an inquiry into the Word so the life can be brought into harmony with its precepts, and so that the truths gained can be shared with others to help them out of the snare of devil (2 Tim 2:26). The contrast is clear, many claim to follow the LORD, but do not have a Heart service in their walk with Him, and thus they have perfected a superficial, shallow, unacceptable mouth and lips service, that serves to shield them from the title “unbeliever” when in fact they are most deserving of that title according to scripture. The next text should be sufficient to prove that the service that God demands is a heart service, not a LIP and MOUTH service.

1 Peter 3:15

15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: KJV

A truly sanctified person in heart, has studied to answer others! They have a genuine hope build not on presumption or caprice but built on the deep sanctification of the Holy Spirit in their mind and heart. Look very closely at the text above and notice where it says their witness for Christ…their giving an answer is done with MEEKNESS. If you will note, in Galatians 5:23 is a fruit of the Holy Spirit! Meekness is the byproduct or result of the work that the Holy Spirit has accomplished in the person, and that fruit or work is then further edified in Galatians 5:23 with the words “against such there is no law. Meaning if you have the fruits of the Spirit working in you, then there is no law condemning you of sin¦you will not be found under the law which is breaking the principles of the Ten Commandments, but rather you will be found in harmony with its principles and precepts or the true intent of the Law of God; which is character perfection as measured by the fruits of the working power of God (meekness, temperance, etc).

Thus a truly sanctified person in heart will be able to give a reason of the hope that is within them, because they have an intimate knowledge of the requirements of God, gained by study of the Word and have by faith and grace (Eph 2:8) come into a salvation relationship with Jesus Christ through the gift of the Holy Spirit, also called the gift of grace. The measuring rod (Rev 11:1) to determine the accuracy of or validity of a true profession of Christ from the sham or the false is the ability to answer an unbeliever with two things; the first being the wisdom or knowledge of the Word of God, and the second being a character that is reflective of the work of the Holy Spirit that brings the believers life and habits into a reflection of Jesus Christâs life and habits were He in their same calling of life. In other words, we must have a knowledge of Gods will and the character of Christ to share those teachings. Only when we have the knowledge and character of Christ can we perfectly fulfill the Great Commissions given below.

Matthew 28:19-20

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. KJV

It should not go without mention that if we are truly Christ then we have the in-born desire to witness to others, this desire comes from the Biblical New Birth experience commonly known as or termed “Born Again. If we are born again then we will seek with all our heart to know the Word of God so we can share it with as many others as we can.

Please note one more criteria or assessment tool to differentiate between the disconnect in many Christian lives of a true profession of faith and a false one.

1 Thessalonians 2:13

13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth , the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. KJV

NOTE: The Word of God will not be shared as the “word of men,” meaning from the uninformed, unenlightened, lack of knowledge of Gods word, but with the presence and power of the Holy Spirit attending the message of the believer with a sanctified heart. The Holy Spirit effectually works in His true believers, and their witness will not be the weak, insipid, musings of a person that does not know the Bible for themselves, but the power of God, a savor of life unto life. To know God, to know His Word, is to have the power of His presence with you when you share it. Thus the following promise will be fulfilled in every believer with this experience.

John 14:26

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance , whatsoever I have said unto you. KJV

How can the Holy Spirit teach His people if they do not make a diligent search of the Word of God that He Himself inspired? What knowledge do they have if they do not have a knowledge of the WORD? Where are they getting their knowledge? Do they just trust in the Holy Spirit, and pray about it or just wait on the LORD without seeking Him? That sounds more like SPIRITUALISM or some kind of extra-Biblical experience that borders on deception. Jesus Christ stated man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” If you do not study or know the Word, then how are you living? Where is your life Spiritual life derived from? Do you read “tea leaves or maybe pig entrails like they did in ancient and wicked Babylon? How is the will of God made known to your life without first having a knowledge of His revealed will for man as given in the Word of God.

It is an absolute truth that the Holy Spirit does make impressions on our mind and heart (Rom 2:15; Rom 9:1; Heb 10:16) and that we can hear the still Small Voice of God speaking to us (1 Kings 19:12) but note that the Holy Spirit speaks according to the Word of God that He inspired, and that in John 14:26 He brings that Word to our remembrance. How then can He do this if study of the Word is neglected? How can we hear His voice God if we do not know that which He speaks, namely His Word. Does the Bible tell us to test the spirits to see if they are from God? 1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of GodKJV. How do we try the spirits but according to the Word of God? What other standard is there? Tea leaves and pig entrails will not do; only a œTHUS SAITH THE LORD. In fact Isaiah 8:20 states:

Isaiah 8:20

20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. KJV

Any truth derived from any other place other than the Word of God is darkness! It is a lie and a sham predicated upon the shallow grounded presumptuous built house on the shifting sands of human wisdom and manâs invention! Look at how Jesus Christ describes it:

Matthew 15:8-9

8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. KJV

NOTE: Jesus Christ has stated we are to follow the doctrine of God! What is the doctrine of God?

1 Timothy 1:9-10

9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; KJV

It is clear that the LAW is SOUND DOCTRINE! The teaching of how to obey the Law of God is the doctrine of God! In the beginning of 1 Timothy 1:9 the word Law is used, but when summarizing the things that the law condemns or instructs against, the term “sound doctrine” is used. Therefore, in Isaiah 8:20 and as the above passage indicates, if we receive truthful doctrine which is the teaching on how to obey the moral government of our Creator, Jesus Christ then it must be in harmony with the Ten Commandments…which is the only time that God spake to mankind in His full glory and then left a reminder written in eternal stone. To disregard the doctrine of the Bible and to follow our own wisdom or our own judgment is to side with Satan the adversary of mankind, it is to willfully choose a deception and love darkness rather than light (John 3:19). What does the WORD OF GOD say that man is doing when he does not follow the doctrine of the Bible?

1 Timothy 6:1

6:1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. KJV

When Bible Doctrine is neglected or ignored the sin of blasphemy is committed! Look at how this is described in 1 John 3:8-9:

1 John 3:8-9

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil ; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil .

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. KJV

The sin of neglecting Bible Doctrine is the highest form of blasphemy! For Bible doctrine teaches us how to obey the moral law of God, and to ignore it is to choose the worship and slavery to sin and Satan! It is willful hatred against God! In verse 9 we see that to be “Born Again we do not commit sin and it is a sin to not follow the doctrine of Gods law! It is the highest work of God to give man the gift of the Holy Spirit/grace so that he can be molded into the image of God (Gen 1:26; Col 1:26-27). Thus the WORKS of God are to rewrite our character from law breaking, sin loving servants of the devil and Satan…into law abiding, sin hating, servants of the LIVING GOD. This is why we worship Jesus Christ as the Creator, for only He has the power to do this work in us and to have a finished product that reflects Christs righteousness.

We are to be recreated in His image. Philippians 1:6 says: Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. The good work is to bring us into obedience to His Doctrine/Law as found in the Word of God, therefore the Bible must be studied or we will be ashamed (2 Tim 2:15) because we will not be able to cooperate with Him in His work. That is the very essence of faith! Faith is allowing God to achieve in us the image of God that was marred when man sin in the Garden of Eden sinned (broke the doctrine/law of God) by not following Gods command. Thus the Holy Spirit left mankind after Adam and Eve sinned. Jesus Christ had to come and die for those sins, the Holy Spirit is only allowed back into the life of mankind by faith so that God can recreate man into what he was supposed to be in harmony with the original intent of creation.

How few are neglecting a study of the Word of God and are as unfit vessels in the hand of the Master Potter? How few are as lumps of hardened clay without the refreshing dew of the Holy Spirit that come from a study of the Word, and the Creator can only fashion a saddened, marred, unfit vessel that He will not be please to bring into His eternal kingdom? How many are like the five FOOLISH virgins that have lamps (Bibles) but no oil (Holy Spirit), and are going to be left out in the dark? How many will come to Christ on judgment day and repeat the very words as found in the next few texts?

Matthew 7:21-23

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. KJV

How many will think they know Jesus Christ, but only to find out that they are unfit vesselslumpy.dry…and misshapen. How many have negelected the Word of God and do not know true Bible doctrine and when they hear the truth they rise up against it as if it were apostasy or cultish teachings, but in reality the pure Word of the Almighty God. How humble should people be when they are confronted with teaching or truth they do not understand? Do they have the spirit of the Bereans?

Acts 17:11

11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. KJV

How few have the character perfection of meekness to go to the Word of God and search out the truth that sounds so foreign to their ears? How little do they realize that the MEEK SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH. The exercise of meekness is manifested in searching the scriptures, not in cheep œone-liner such as I will pray about it or God will tell me of it is so or not. How many are deceived that God will show them something when they do not know Him in His word? Presumptious statements like this betray the inherent lack of a true heart profession” of Jesus Christ as their LORD and Savior. It betrays a cheap and unhallowed experience that will one day be rewarded according to their works (Rev 22:12) and that what a man sows that shall he also reap. If we sow neglect of the Word of God we shall reap a lack of the knowledge of Jesus Christ and when the truth comes to the soul it will be discarded as a pearl is to a swine, or a golden ear ring in a swines snout! Look at thow the Bible describes the experience of this group of Christians:

Isaiah 4:1

4:1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach. KJV

Look at what this prophetic message is saying when it is decoded:

1) Woman = Church (Jer 6:2, 2 cor 11:2

2) Man = Jesus Christ (the desire of the church) (John 4:29)

3) Take hold of = mouth & lip service only (Is 29:13)

4) Bread = Word of God (these women eat their own ideas and traditions) (John 6:35)

5) Apparel = righteousness (Job 29:14)

6) Called by name = Christian (Matthew 24:4-5)

7) Take away our reproach = the shame of being a sinner (Proverbs 28:4)

Lets put it all together! There will be many churches in the Christian community claiming to follow Jesus Christ with their mouth and lips, but they eat the teaching that please their carnal hearts or they eat an all white bleached out wonder bread diet of the Word of God, thus their righteousness is of their own doing, and not something from the creative power of God as a gift of grace by the Holy Spirit through faith, and they are called Christian only so they will not be labeled as wicked sinners and transgressors that they really are. All this because they neglected the Word of God, and just prayed about it

2 Corinthians 6:2

2(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) KJV

Let us take the advice of 2 Corinthians 6:2 and make a commitment to be a fit vessel in the hand of God, to be a wise virgin, and to be a student of the Word of God and fulfill the divine commission to share the wonderful truths in the Blessed and Holy Word of God with others. Let us have meekness and study ourselves to be approved of God. Let us cast off the wisdom of man, the doctrine of man, the teachings of man, the spirit of man…and let us accept the wisdom, doctrine, teachings and the Holy Spirit that comes from God only! Many claim to be recipients’ of grace, but how does grace work?

Titus 2:11-12

11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; KJV

THE BIBLICAL GRACE OF GOD DOES WHAT? It teaches us! Who is the great teacher in the Bible? The Holy Spirit! How does He teach us? From the Bible! What does He teach us? To deny lusts! What is lust? Sin! What is sin? Law breaking! What is Law breaking? Bad doctrine! What is bad doctrine called in the Bible? Blasphemy! Will blasphemers be in the kingdom of God? NO! It is the ultimate sin! The sin that will never be forgiven (Matt 12:31)!!!

Now is the time to repent of the sleepy experience that has gotten hold on many of the professed followers of Jesus Christ! Now is the time to humble ourselves and pray for the meekness to receive the light that God is trying to shine in our life! Now is the time for God’s people to fear God and give glory to him! Now is the time for Jesus to be the WORD OF GOD to us personally, our spiritual rest as only found in the Bible!

Revelation 14:7

7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. KJV
